I’m Julie A Davis, a specialist newborn photographer in Hampshire, serving Winchester, Southampton, Salisbury, the New Forest and Dorset. With 17 years’ experience and a lifetime working with newborn babies, I offer calm, safe and deeply reassuring newborn photography for parents who want the very best for their baby.

My clients are often first-time mums, many of whom have waited a long time for their baby. They choose me because they want an experienced professional who understands babies — not just photography.

Why newborn photography requires experience.

Your baby is only tiny for a very short time.

Those first days are delicate, emotional and often overwhelming — especially if you’re a first-time mum. That’s why experience matters.

Before photography, I spent 20 years working professionally with newborn babies and families as a:

• qualified nursery nurse

• maternity nurse

• infant feeding specialist

• infant sleep specialist

This means your baby is always:

• handled gently and safely

• settled with patience and care

• photographed at their own pace

A calm, baby-led newborn photography experience

My newborn photography sessions are unhurried, baby-led and designed to feel calm for both parents and baby.

During your session:

• Your baby’s comfort comes first

• There is plenty of time for feeding and settling

• No rushing, forcing or unsafe posing

• Parents can relax, knowing their baby is safe

When to book your newborn photography session.

The best newborn photographs are taken when babies are between 5–21 days old — while they are still sleepy and naturally curled.

For this reason, I strongly recommend booking your newborn photography session while you are still pregnant, ideally between 20–32 weeks.

Booking early means:

• Your session is reserved in advance

• You don’t need to make decisions when you’re exhausted

• Your baby won’t miss the ideal window

I only take on a limited number of newborn sessions each month to ensure every family receives the time and care they deserve.

Your newborn photography session — what to expect

Your session takes place in my calm, purpose-designed studio in Totton, Hampshire, easily accessible from Winchester and Southampton.

Sessions typically last 2–3 hours, allowing time for:

• feeding

• cuddles

• settling

• gentle posing

Everything is provided — from soft wraps and blankets to a warm, peaceful environment. You don’t need to prepare anything other than bringing your baby and yourselves.

• value expertise, privacy and emotional understanding
