A calm space designed especially for newborn babies

My newborn photography studio is based in Totton, Hampshire, and has been carefully created with newborn safety, comfort and calm in mind.

This is not a busy, noisy environment.
It’s a warm, quiet space where you can relax, knowing your baby is being cared for gently and professionally.

Families travel to my studio from Winchester, Southampton, Salisbury, the New Forest and Dorset because they value experience, reassurance and a calm approach during those early days with a new baby.

Designed for first-time parents

If this is your first baby, it’s completely natural to feel a little nervous — especially about leaving the house or handing your baby to someone new.

My studio is designed to help you feel at ease from the moment you arrive.

Many parents tell me the session feels more like a pause in a busy newborn period than a photoshoot.

A baby-led, safety-first approach

Before becoming a photographer, I spent over 20 years working professionally with newborn babies and mothers as a qualified nursery nurse, maternity nurse, and infant feeding and sleep specialist.

That experience shapes everything I do in the studio.

Your baby’s comfort and safety always come first:

• poses are gentle and natural

• your baby is never forced or rushed

• there is time for feeding, settling and soothing

This baby-led approach is especially reassuring for parents who feel protective, anxious, or who have waited a long time for their baby.

Everything is prepared for you

You don’t need to bring anything special to your newborn session.

My studio is fully equipped with:

• soft wraps and blankets

• neutral, timeless props

• a warm temperature suitable for newborns

All you need to do is arrive with your baby and allow yourself to relax.

Sessions typically last 2–3 hours, allowing plenty of time for your baby to settle naturally.

Booking your newborn session

Because newborn photography takes place in a very short window, I recommend booking your session while you are still pregnant, ideally between 20–32 weeks.

This ensures availability and removes the pressure of trying to organise anything once your baby arrives.
